ChatGPT Not Working? Access and Login Troubleshooting

Check the address first

Open chatgpt.com directly. A typo in a search query does not require you to sign in to an unfamiliar “mirror.” Never enter your OpenAI password on this website or an unrelated domain.

If the page will not load

1. Check that other websites open normally.
2. Look at OpenAI’s service status for a current incident.
3. Reload the official page, or try another supported, up-to-date browser.
4. If an extension blocks the page, test with that extension disabled in a separate window. Do not disable security protection broadly.
5. Check the official supported countries and territories. This guide does not provide a way around regional restrictions.

If you cannot sign in

Use the same sign-in method you used to create the account. If you originally used a Google account, choose that provider again. Follow password recovery instructions only on the official service. Do not send passwords or verification codes to people offering unofficial account recovery.

If you see a specific error, note its exact wording and look it up in the OpenAI Help Center. For an account-specific problem, use official support. Our site administrator cannot restore an OpenAI account or change its billing.

If you reach a usage limit

Free access has limits that may differ by feature and change over time. Read the message in the official interface and the Free Tier FAQ. Wait until the stated reset, or review the official plans if you choose. Our site does not sell unlimited access, bypass limits, or unlock a paid plan.

If an answer is missing or unhelpful
